This course is designed for professionals working in special schools and other special educational needs and disability (SEND) settings.
The course provides information and advice on how we can best support children with SEND with the issues of bereavement, grief and loss.
The course also covers how we personally manage the death of pupils and the demands of working with grieving individuals
Your Instructor

Sarah has worked in the Special Educational Needs/Disabilities (SEND) field for over 25 years and has an outstanding track record in a diverse range of roles (Deputy Head, Assistant Head, Teacher, Local Authority Education Officer and Educational Publisher).
She now works as BackPocketTeacher - an author, trainer and consultant in the field of child bereavement, specialising in the (sadly often overlooked) needs of bereaved children with SEND.
Sarah has recently completed a PhD alongside her work as BackPocketTeacher. She researched how children with severe, profound or profound and multiple learning disabilities communicate grief.
